Going a little British?

Gaffer Tape solves all problems

Though Miatas at the Gap this year set records for attendees, it may have set another record. Several times during the weekend, cars could be found with hoods up or even up on lifts for emergency field repairs. Though most keep up with regular maintenance, hood-up moments and shade-tree escapades will probably become more common as the age of the fleet continues to surpass the age of its youngest drivers.

Did you have to work on your car on location this year? What all went wrong? Were you able to get the car home under its own power? Share your story (and, if you still need anything, let us know)!

Without further ado… we would like to present the final images from the Dam(n) Photo on the ball field. We have a few kinks to work out for next year but have a pretty good idea on how to make things faster and easier. We counted ~210 cars on departure with room for quite a few more next year.

For purchase please visit https://killboy.photoreflect.com/store/ThumbPage.aspx?e=10459892&g=04RK03JS0D and while you are there you can browse for pictures of your Miata in each days’ group specific to our cars.

We’d also like to see all of YOUR pictures, please upload them to our group here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/matg/

Now that our departure from MATG has fully set in, we’ve hashed out the details some of you have been asking for. Without further ado…

730 cars (!!!) with 1105 attendees from 34 states and Canada!

$6000.00 to Blount County Rescue Squad

~210 cars in the photo (sorry we were so slow, better logistics are in place for next year already)

18 Vendors

All of these are new records for MATG and we would like to thank all of you, the amazing volunteers, our vendors and the sponsors for helping rewrite the record book this year!!!

As an aside, we spoke with Fontana this morning and would like to extend thanks to all of you that have reserved space already; you’ve managed to reserve ALL of the available cabins in the village and only 54 Lodge rooms remain available. It is STRONGLY suggested to add your name to a wait list if the room or cabin type you want isn’t available because people’s plans always change.

Rooms for 2020!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Was that loud enough? Probably not, but we can’t thank y’all enough for attending MATG XXIII.  Without you all, Miatas at the Gap would not be possible!

Did you make your reservations for next year yet? How about a sweet new cabin? Reservations at Fontana are now open for next year!!

We all descend upon the Dragon for MATG XXIV August 6-9, 2020.

Call Fontana at (828) 498-2211 and mention that you are part of  Miatas at the Gap to ensure our discounted rate!

Thank YOU!!

While we all nurse our MATG hangovers, we would like to thank everyone of our attendees, vendors, and sponsors. It wouldn’t be possible without all of you and we look forward to seeing you next year!

We’re still sifting all of the info, but it’s safe to say we broke a record or two this year thanks to y’all, and those details will be out shortly along with the links to the group photo.

Start your planning for MATG XXIV today and we’ll see you August 6-9, 2020!!!

Amazing Raffle Prizes!

As many already know, we solicit donations from our vendors and sponsors in order to raise money for the volunteer EMS crews in the area. These are the folks that provide medical response where it’s needed for all who enjoy these roads!!! The list is already pretty stacked and we’re still waiting on confirmation for the last few items. Ask about the list when you’re buying those raffle tickets!!!

WELCOME!!!!

Welcome everyone! We’re excited to meet all of you at the registration tent and around the village all weekend.

So tell us; What are you planning during your weekend at MATG?
